About the Course
When we learn how to plan according to the Understanding by Design method, we hopefully get to the point where we can develop a unit with ease. But how does that unit play out on the calendar? And come to think of it, how do we figure out how a whole year-long course should look, curriculum-wise? In this four-session course, we’ll break down what may feel overwhelming - planning a whole year - into clear, manageable steps.

More about this Course...
All too often, newer teachers have difficulty crafting a curriculum, never mind having to plot that curriculum across the calendar of an entire school year. In this course, participants will learn how to map and chunk the content they will be teaching for the year; map and chunk the amount of time they have to teach each year; and taking both of those into consideration, figure out how to fit those pieces together into a thoughtful, yearlong plan. Session outlines: 1. Introduction to the Yearlong Process - Haggard or Healthy? : What Is Needed for a Productive Teaching Year 2. Chunking Your Content: For Example, How to Teach a Sefer? 3. Chunking Your Time and Mapping a Unit: Doing the Math and Wading Into the Weeds 4. Let’s Practice: Start the Process for Your Upcoming Year
